Default Water collecting under gas flap?

After washing my car the other day, I opened the gas flap to replace the washer fluid cap that was dry-rotted and to my surprise, it was full of water and not receding.

It looks like just below the gas cap, there is a hole with presumably a drain hose on the back end, which is likely clogged. I tried inserting a wire coat hanger and it definitely feels like there is a rubber hose underneath. I couldn't get it unclogged. Took a look through the PET and service manual and couldn't find anything related to this at all. The PET doesn't show any sort of drain hose or anything.

I did a search on here and didn't come up with anything. Anyone had this issue and can offer any tips? This is low on my list of current projects but I'm guessing my next step is to remove the front wheel and splash guard from the wheel well to look behind the fender where this presumed drain should be located.

Yeah the hose dumps out in there somewhere.. Maybe just a blast of compressed air?

Run a wire through the hose to clear the drain.

That's what I did (posted above), to no avail.

Will try the compressed air option.

Sorry to hear that, had a similar issue that I cleared with some 12ga wire. Good luck

Use care with compressed air, wouldn't want to blow the hose iff of its fitting(s)

I've always used heavy grass trimmer line to clean water drains on my cars. Its fairly cheap, flexible, non scratching, and you can use whatever length you need to clean out the drain line. There are many sizes and styles so you should be able to find something to fit your needs at a home supply store if they are still open where you are.

As many of you know I'm all for any Porsche servicing or repair solution that involves repurposing something inexpensive from The Home Depot to get the job done!
They probably sell the same stuff at the Dealership as "Porsche Schlauchreiniger" for $50 a foot.
