Default Momo steering wheel horn button upgrade

Hi, I am in the process of changing out my steering wheel to the momo protipo (sp?). I would like a Porsche emblem horn button but all I seem to find is the eBay special for $80.00. Does anyone have another place to look? Also, please post a photo of yours and where you got it! Thanks!

Ps- does the momo horn that comes with it come apart? Can I remove the “momo” emblem and slide in my own card with a logo?

The mom button can be taken apart. The button uses a brass cover piece (the piece with the design) that rests on a spring inside a plastic housing. The plastic housing pops open and that piece can be replaced. There is a guy in Mexico who makes embossed leather buttons like you see in Singer Porsches. I found him on the 911uk forum. It looks good, but the fitment was off, so I would not recommend him. The different wheels have different types of buttons. The protipo has a button that sits proud of the wheel, whereas the mod.07 sits flush. The brass cover piece is different in thickness between the two and that can be tricky when buying aftermarket. Trial and error to see what works.

Check out these guys. I'm also looking into adding the Protipo in my '97 993 C2.

Thanks @OUAnesthesia , I just ordered it. That is the same horn as eBay but for 1/2 the price! For $41 and $3 for shipping, it is not worth messing with anymore. @rk-d i am going to try and modify the one that comes with my wheel and will see what looks better. Thanks for all of your help with this project!!

not a problem...I had two metal grounding rings...one was for the mod 7 button and a different one came with this horn button I believe...I did have to switch that ring out for a snug fit since the mod 7 horn fits flush and this one does not....was simple but just take note incase the ring you have installed doesn’t fit snug.

I am also trying to purchase their Porsche Momo horn button.
Their Ad indicates that Part# 906637 is for a 52mm and 60mm Outer ring.
There are two sizes of Momo-Porsche horn buttons
I am looking for a 60mm outer ring button.

How did you specify which one you wanted?
Please and thanks

I second this site! I have the same Prototipo installed in my 993 and ordered the horn from them so well. Fits perfect and looks great!

I'm very surprised to read that you had a poor experience with Manuel. I've ordered several of his custom embossed leather horn buttons (as have a few of my friends) and they have always been perfect. I've also ordered a few of his gorgeous wood shift ***** that are of the same quality. He is very exacting with his measurements and milling....

Manuel's email for those looking for something a little more special - porsche356sport@yahoo.com

Here's the latest piece from him for my 964:
