Default Seat movement help

Hi All, while trying to fix all of the little niggles in my 96 C2, I’m now onto the passenger seat. The power seat move forward/back only works on the left side of the seat (closest to the transmission tunnel on my LHD car). That side moves back/forward, the right side doesn’t move. I have used an endoscope to try to determine whether there is any loose change stuck, but nothing. Today I pulled off the pipe that runs from the motor in the center of the seat, to the right hand side of the car (side that is stuck).

What I found immediately was a broken piece of plastic inside the tube (see pictures). Through reading some of the other threads, I thought that this was a wire braid enclosed inside the tube that moved the rail screws on each side.

Is anyone familiar with this? Do I need to replace this with a braided unit? I think I saw them between 80 to $100. Help and advice appreciated!

I thought that I needed part number 928.521.252.04 which is the seat drive shaft, however everywhere I look, this part is a metal braid. Mine is a hard plastic inside the tube with a square end that goes into the worm gear.

Thanks! That is really helpful. Looks like I need the part that I mentioned. Strange how that the current part I have is plastic inside. Maybe a PO got this from some other source.
