Thanks everybody for their opinions and insights. unfortunately, the deal didn't work out for lack of documentation and not allowing an outside inspection. I wasn't able to see the car in person, so maybe somebody local will have better luck. I also looked at the 993 sold on the forum here that was listed as a previously sold Holt car. Unfortunately, this one also didn't work out as a PPI revealed that the engine needed a complete reseal and the car had additional paintwork done but disclosed by the owner. I'm now looking at this 1996 Tagra sold by Princeton Porsche. Is anybody familiar with the car or local that can take a look for me? https://www.princetonporsche.com/inv...da2996ts385309

One thing that was common on these cars was odometer failure....if owners did not replace the cog wheel that commonly failed they were able to "freeze" the miles if they left it inoperable....that 29k example could have had many more miles on it based on the photos showing more wear than expected.....
Tough to tell if an owner did this....today's emissions offices, tag offices are more sophisticated to keep track of miles....Carfax can also be doctored by dealers....have experienced this....
