I had something similar happen to me when I changed to LEDs and figured out that sometimes when you remove and replace with new you may not get a solid contact inside the bulb holder. Have you tried to remove the new bulb, clean the contacts inside the holder if there is any corrosion, and pull the contact tabs a bit so it presses more against the bulb? Also try flipping the bulbs from left to right to make sure you don't have "new" dead bulb.

Have you unplugged any of the bulb harness pigtails recently? They can be accidentally switched in the rear corners causing the bulbs to blink in double-time. Since mixing up the pigtails causes this the underlying issue is attaching the wrong bulb with a different than specified wattage so if your harness plugs are not switched check that you have installed the correct bulbs by bulb number.

Better check the wiring as a mouse could have chewed the wire.

Yes, I had a mouse living in the bucket the AC evaporator is in, in my 1986 Carrera. Lived well with all sorts of junk food packaging in there and a ready supply of water from the coil condensation. Unfortunately, he didn't do so well in the sub-Zero winters of Cleveland where I found him desiccated sleeping in his hiding place.
