One Armed Windshield Wiper for 993 ?
#16
Just in case anyone ever searches under this topic, I looked up the technical specs: for the 993, Porsche moved the axes of the two wiper arms closer together and made the blades of different lengths. Benefits=greater wiping area than previous 911s and 80% of the wiped area is wiped by both wipers. Also, "the agglomeration of snow is reduced."

Why even use windshield wipers? The slope of the windshield in the 993
(+45*) does a great job of evacuating rain if you constantly keep it Rain-X'd. It is a great product that works fantastic on our cars. The only time I've had to use the windshield wipers was in heavy snow, in Michigan. For people that have removed their heater blowers, use Fog-X on the interior windows to eliminate fog / condensation build up.
Rain-X also has windshield washer solvent (orange in color).
Just my 2 cents.

most true racing versions (new models aside) use a 4-bar mechanism to get the coverage......the blade will traverse from side-to-side and remain positioned such that it will wipe a large rectangle....not an arc....check out the 962 version......actually , with a few careful measurements you could make one up for the 993 windscreen
