Hi everyone,
I was able to purchase Cup ll Wheels and I am now ready to purchase tires for them. They are for my 1998 993 in 17".
What tire do I buy. I only use the car in the summer and I dont track it. I like to drive it as hard as I can, but I find myself driving in traffic most of the time.
Comfort and noise are very important. Great comfort and very little noise.
I really dont care how many miles its rated for because I only put on 2-3 thousnd a summer.
Thanks for your help.

The Conti ExtremeContact Sport is very good tire and a tremendous value. Check out the Tire Rack tests and reviews. For a performance tire, it is quite and comfortable. Dry grip is great, and the wet grip is superb. Tread life is short, at least on the rears.

For those of you who are running the factory 16” cup wheels (7” & 9”, I believe), what tires have you been able to find lately?
It seems like every year, or maybe it’s when a tire model is upgraded, the manufacturers stop producing tires in 16” sizes.
My coupe came to me with 8 year old Toyo Proxes 4s on it, and while they’re not worn out I’m wanting to replace them with a similar high performance all-season tire due to their age.
