Default Forward motion on seat not working

Got in the car today and, having moved the seat backwards earlier, I realized I couldn't move the seat forward using the button. It eventually worked for a moment again and then stopped. The other directions (up, down & back) work so based on the threads I've read it sounds like I might just have to either clean the switch connections or replace the switch. Any other advice before I set to it?

Wiggle it side to side with one hand while pressing the forward motion switch while not sitting in it. If that gets you going again then remember next time not to go all the way back. Next step will be research for a more robust solution.

Do you hear the motor running when you try and move forward?

If so, the drive mechanism might be broken. Common issue.

Mine is behaving this way too, but I know for a fact its the electrical contacts on the adjustment switch as I can tap the switch and get it to move forward sometimes, but backwards and up/down always work. Has anyone taken one of these apart and cleaned the contacts? I'm going to attempt that soon.

My recliner switch stopped working but I really don't adjust it that often so I am waiting a bit before I order a new switch. I think Pelican has a lower priced non oem switch.

heres a good thread on opening and cleaning the switch contacts. As noted, be very careful about loosing those little *****. Might consider trying contact cleaner thru the gaps in the switch prior to disassembly.
