Question First serious question!!

Ok,
in my car the stwich for the rear screen demister does'nt seem to be working properly. What happens is when you pull it out, it won't stay out - it returns to its 'off' position all the time. So I imagin its broken. Where could I get one of these and is it hard to replace?
Thanks.

From what I remember, this switch does not pull out. Instead, it starts a timer.

Correct,

On the 993, when you pull the "momentary" switch, it trips a timed relay. I would investigate the vitality of the relay. The switch is likely healthy.

William is correct. When you pull the switch, the rear defroster relay is activated and the switch returns to the "off" position. However, the light inside the switch remains on for the duration of the defroster function.

The fuse/relay diagram printed on the underside of the fuse box cover will tell you about the fuse/relay for this function.....hope that helps...

The original poster might not need this but surely someone searching the archives will benefit. Thanks for your contribution.

Helped me! I thought I had a bad switch because it kept going back in.

Thanks!
