Post Running dissimilar rear tires

I went to Wheel Tech and gave them one of my rear wheels to refinish. As a loaner they gave me a factory 18" wheel with a Pirelli 265/35 tyre. The set up on my other wheel is SO2 285/30 on 18".

Should I worry about the slight difference in wheel diameter (the difference in diameter works out to less than 2.5%)? Should I limit the amount I drive with this set up? Mine is a C4S.

Thanks all.

FWIW You should probably take it easy the fact that you have different tyres on the same axle, let alone different wheels.

Especially if you can actually feel the difference.

Thanks Bins.

The wheels are the same (both factory 18" "fake hollow spokes") only tires are different. I honestly cannot feel any difference while driving.

I wouldn't be overly concerned if you drive at gentle speeds to get you around while you wait for the real one to come back... after all the spare is about the width of a straw and you can still drive up to around 40 mph or so.

5500 rpm standing starts are right out tho!

IMHO obviously. Cheers, W

Imagine a runner with one running shoe and one leather soled dress shoe. Walking or careful jogging might be OK, but running could put him on his a$$. Same concept, albeit a wee bit exaggerated.

Drive as if your mother-in-law is on board & you should be fine. <img src="graemlins/icon107.gif" border="0" alt="[icon107]" />

This one could be a real double edged sword. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
