New decklid emblem
Just had my C2S decklid resprayed for installing the original split grille.
Now I need to stick on the new CARRERA S emblems.
Is this as simple as "position and stick" or does the plastic have a 'memory' and will it want to pull away from the paint?
Do I need to heat the plastic first?
I know I will f this up if I don't ask these questions......

Just make sure the paint is fully cured before you put any adhesive on it. Clean it with alcohol to remove any dirt or grease.
The most important thing is to be sure your emblem position is 101% level and even. I would apply this similarly to RTA vinyl applications and use a drop of Dawn soap to a cup of water in a small, cosmetic spray bottle to allow repositioning. Spray the deck lid and then the back of the badge (after removing the backing paper). Once you're happy with the position, press on the badge to remove any water. Allow it to fully dry with a hair dryer if you want to speed up the process.
You can also use a 50/50 alcohol and water mixture if the Dawn concerns you, but your positioning time is reduced since drying is faster. I have a great deal of experience with both methods.

The emblem is a position and stick situation. The adhesive is a double sided foam tape that has the ability to fill small gaps and compensate for the curvature of the decklid. Make sure the area you want to adhere it is free of oil and wax and make sure you have it positioned exactly where you want it. Once it adheres it cannot be peeled off and re-positioned. I defined the area I wanted it positioned in with blue painters tape. Porsche probably has an exact spec for the position but I couldn't tell you what it is for a C2S. Mark's method is forgiving, this method is not.
