Probably a flood car. Horribly done. Run fast.

Noice you mentioned the IMS issue for 996 and some 997’s. They can be a great buy once the IMS issue has been dealt with. The bad press has kept the demand from uninformed buyers depressed. The 996 is unloved and can be a great buy. Friend just bought a 45,000 mile, 2002 Turbo, one owner, unmolested with all records for 50k. Silver and black.

Thanks! I saw that it was a Canadian car but didn't realize the exchange rate was that favorable to the dollar. Regardless, my opinion has not changed.

You can do better. Much better. You can get a really nice vert with a budget of 40k. That interior looked awful. Sorry if everyone here disappointed you, but in the end you are getting very good advice. Good luck with the search.

At a Porsche dealer, $37k and only 55k miles. I wouldn't consider a salvage car if I could have something like this for $4k more.
