An Era Ends, Xavier LaFlamme Rides Into Sunset...
Hi Rennlist:
After 7 years of owning my 993, I am selling it to a good friend. It will be in good hands, and he will continue the no holds barred modding that I began.
It was a blast owning it. I learned a ton and did most everything with my two hands. Blood, sweat and tears.
So, take care brothers and sisters. I'll be the dude who used to own a 993.
It's been real.

I have been wrestling with this for the past year. I saved money to do a top end rebuild but wasn't too excited about my options.
The idea of spending the money grew less attractive. Frankly, having two p-cars is at the edge of my means. We are going to do some renovations on the house as well. I have been renting a spot for the Cayman R for the last year which added to the costs of keeping two of these cars.
A friend was looking for a car and he knows mine pretty well so I decided to ask if he wanted it.
It is good for me to have one less thing to worry about. Plus, the R is awesome. Love that thing.
All in all, it is bittersweet, but my friend will enjoy the 993 and I will help him work on it. It kind of stays in the family.

Enjoyed and learned a bunch from your posts.
Forum is still open, don't be a stranger.
Sad to see you go but best of luck with the renovations and the simplification of your life.

All the best, Michael. Our 993 paths crossed briefly when I reached out to you to buy your roof rack.
Much respect to you for being one of the few who daily drove their 993 (even in the snow), wrenched on it, and for signing off in the third person.

I own a 993 and a Cayman R. It took me a long time to decide which I would chose to keep if I had to chose between the two. Old school vs newer school. The cars are completely different. The Cayman R is excellent in its own way. I've owned the 993 for 22 years. I think I might chose the Cayman R for my needs at my age. Good luck to you, Bro..
