Replacement seat switches interchangeable?
Hey
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911...ry!94901!US!-1
Are the 4-way seat switches interchangeable between the different controls or are there specific switches for each of the positions?
Can the front 4-way switch be put in the back position or is there specific switches for each of the positions?
Do I have to remove the seat to swap out one of them or can it be done with the seats in?
Thanks

The switches themselves are interchngeable, however wire coding might be different.
You will at least need to remove the seat fasteners and tip the seat back to access the seat wire plug harness. However, if you go this far, you might as well remove the seat and have complete access to what you're working on. Who needs additional aches?

FWIW, if the switches mechanically operate OK, open them up and clean the contacts. Its a bit of work, you can do it while they are in the car. On my 89 I had an an intermittent switch that was 100% a tarnished switch connection. There are some good pictures of this on Pelican.

I seem to recall the switches themselves are delicate and they tend to pop apart when you don't expect them to so use care not to lose any of the small parts.

The switches are spring loaded and have little tiny ball bearings at the end of the springs, so be careful if disassembly is required.
