I think it is a beautiful car and I think you got a great deal.
I paid more for a 1998 C2S in Artic Silver in "new" condition with low miles. It was owned by the current president of the PCA and has won numerous concours events.
These are special cars and I consider myself more of a custodian of an irreplaceable part of Porsche history than I do a car owner.

This car was great, it was honestly "showroom condition". We've been tough on Mark's other choices, but I think this one was worth the wait. Garage Queen Material!
Incidentally, Mark is not a former customer, (he's out of area), so we appreciate his trust in our unbiased evaluation. Rob Morgan @ Truspeed Motorsports is a very nice guy to work with. (Watch him in Rolex 24 @ Daytona next week driving a Corvette) Truspeed has some very nice cars and some are well worth the money, but we have also given "thumbs down" on some of their inspections. In fairness to the specialty auto brokers, They are not always aware of the real mechanical condition of the car, ("It drives great") so PPI's should be a part of the buying process.

Mark,
Now I know why you were out looking for that 3 car garage in Manhattan Beach. You had better hurry and get that garage. In the meantime, if you need a place to store your new S I might be able to find some space in my garage. I would gladly kick my wifes SUV out, but it will cost you (if my wife hears about this it will cost me too)
Congrats on your new baby (the P-car that is). Lets hook up one of these days & I will buy you a cold one and celebrate.

Absolutely beautiful car Mark! It looks like a sister to mine, except mine would probably be the "bad" sister.

Sweet car Mark. I too traded an '01 BMW E-39 for my GP White cab - more of an Alanis Morissette to your J Lo. I never cared much for white before either.
I think you should come and show it off this Saturday at the PCA breakfast in Santa Monica. Spitfire Grill at 9:00 AM.
As to the LA Drive, check out the PCA Fun Run to the Nethercutt Collection Auto Museum on February 22.
'Hope to see you Saturday.

My wife had to park the suv on the st last night. She wasn't too happy 'bout that.
Yes to the cold one(s)...
Steven:
That sounds good. Is 9am the official meeting time? or are there pre-breakfast activities?
Hey CJ, want to drive the green cab this saturday morning?
Laura:
Thanks again!
And thanks everyone for the comments. I am very happy with the purchase and appreciate all the advice I have read here that helped me along the way.

Beautiful car! Do you know for certain whether the Turbo S spoiler on your car was a factory option or added later? I have the same spoiler(s), front/rear/skirts, all from TechArt(OEM supplier) and these were added later. I am interested in that I am setting my car up as a PCA "D" class car and factory optional aerodynamics seem to pose fewer class determination issues with the tech inspectors. That said, I am virtually certain that your/my Turbo S stuff is OK in D class but would love to know if your aero stuff was factory.
Congratulations on your aquisition!

Thanks. Yes, I know for sure. The PO kept everything, including the window sticker (in mint condition). The sticker shows the option ($7045 or so). As well, the sticker under the hood has XD1 and XD2. I believe (from using the search function wisely...) that these represent the Aerokit.

No. The cab is going up there instead. Maybe I'll trailer it up behind the 95 if Todd decides to have a Tracquest concours (joking, of course).

It starts at 9:00 AM, but let me know if you're heading over early and I'll make an effort as well.
Btb, the Spitfire Grill borders the SM Airport - an appropriate venue for your new ride. It looks like it's going to take off.

I imagine it's not a problem that I am not a PCA member (ie, it is an informal breakfast)?
I will probably head over at about 8:45 or sooner.

I can't imagine it would be. But if you get grief, we'll just say you're a guest of mine and a prospective PCA member - See outside that shiny new (practically) 993 with no plates?
'See you around 8:45 - and hopefully the other LA adjacent folks on this board.

Mark, imo you paid way too low for that sweet *** car. That car is worth (w/ no bad history) at least $60K. Thanks for dishing out a full plate of buyers remorse for me
