Did everyone upgrading wheels upgrade steering column?
I was reading the facts sheet posted up top. And it says upgrading to 18" wheels for 95 993's requires a $40 part to strengthen the steering column did everyone upgrade their column, the reason I ask is I didn't and don't want to be worrying about it. Thanks <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Later Porsche bulletins mention details -that say in so many words- that the kit may not be necessary.
I did the update for the potential "sharper steering feel" that the part could also reportedly produce.

Better be safe than sorry I guess! I'm going to do it shortly as I'm mounting RS wheels and will do track work. I really do not want to be worried taking turn 9 at 100+ mph at TWS!

It is a really easy add on, and even though it is implied by Porsche that you may not actually need one on the early 993's anymore (I remember seeing a pretty good thread on this before), I dont see the harm in adding it. I did it pretty soon after buying the 18 inch rims purely for peace of mind...
