Unhappy Confused

Please chime in on this one. I definately want to lower my car. I have read everything in the archives as well as what is now being discussed on the list. My car will be probably 100% street, possibly tracked, but probably not. What do you suggest. If been investigating the H&R spring with HD shock combo from Gert. Will this do the job? Does this set up have enough thread for proper adjustment? Will/can the rear shocks jump of of there perches under normal driving? Does anybody have this set up currently on their car and could possibly enlighten me.

Thanks very much

993Chaz,

It is a big decision - if you're doing mostly street I'd stay away from the coilovers. You can achieve the look with a more comfortable ride with ROW M030 or H&R plus Bilstein HD's.

See this thread co-opted from DJF1's FAQ for recent commentary on your choices.

Good luck!

Thx Ben for the response, I checked out DJ's thread. I still have a question. Are the perch collars necessary with the ROW MO30 set up.

Also, is this the same kit offered from Gert at 1795 euros.

Thank you

Chaz said he's been investigating the H&R spring with HD shock combo. Isn't that the same as the H&R plus Bilstein HD's that you suggested? Are they different? Or "combo" means coilovers?

Thx

One and the same. Sorry I don't know more specifics about the ride height adjustability of the ROW MO30. I think it's pretty limited but I also think for street use the ride height from the ROW MO30 would be fine. I do like the longevity factor of the Bilstein HD's over the factory shocks, however.

I have PSS-9's and RW Sways. I like this setup but IMO it's more of a track setup that is streetable. On good road surfaces it feels fine but on many of the rough roads we have here in N. TX it can be downright harsh. I don't mind it but passengers may feel differently.

Chaz - wasn't trying to be a search **** - I did some poking around as well and didn't find a direct answer to your question. I'd send an email to Gert - he'd be happy to answer your question and I would endorse him as a source for whatever suspension setup you choose. That's where I got mine!

Regards,

Ben

Thx Ben,

I was also considering ROW springs with Bilstein HD because I like the longevity of Bilstein and the ROW height but some people had problem with the HD in the rear being too short for ROW height set up. And from what I have read, H&R springs are quite low.

I am going with the Eibach springs (I have them already) and adding the Bilsteins.

Everyone I have spoken to (including Rennlist, Gert from Carnewal and www.epe.com ) all say this setup will work just fine. I also have adjustable RS sway bars.
