Default Another Brake rotor question...quick one

Yeah, I know, go with actual Porsche rotors, which I have with 100% satisfaction for just short of two decades now. But a quick question for you all: what about these Zimmermann rotors with the "Z coating"? Any thoughts on these? I need a pair of new fronts and the cost delta is nearly 2 Benjamins. Will gladly go back to original Porsche rotors, but if these Zims are better than the ones of old that corroded then why not save the dough, right?

Yes, did a search but nothing recent (wrt the coated rotors) that I can find. Experience with these "new" ones, anyone? TIA

I've used the Z coated Zimmermanns on both the 993 and BMW. I've noticed no difference in performance from OE. I've probably been through 4 sets over the past few years (thanks to the track pads).

They're probably not *better*, but I've had no problem with 6-8 sets of Zimmermans on both 993 and 951 track car. Hit the hub and edge with some paint and they'll stay nicer looking for a bit longer (but rust never sleeps).

Z-Coating, That's good for about 15 minutes of driving.

zimmermans are great and I haven't had any hub rusting issues with them.

save the money.

Outstanding, gents! I knew mannnnny years ago that the zimms were "reported" by others here as good rotors but the hats would indeed rust, so I always stuck to OE. But based on you guys giving these zimms the thumbsup, I think I'll go for them now that they're coated. I appreciate the quick feedback, guys ...I gotta use my discount before it expires
