Default Door lock behavoir?

If the doors are locked with the central lock button on the console and then you open the passenger door from the interior handle, should the door stay locked from the outside when it's closed again or be open? Every car I have had previously that would be unlocked but my 993 stays locked so just trying to see if that is normal behavior. See also how you lock you keys in your car.

That last line does not appear to be functional on my car.

Mine stays unlocked in the operation you describe. You probably have a bad passenger door lock actuator. Mine exhibited the same behavior and that was the problem. I changed both sides as they seem to be problematic.

See if you hear the 993 “clunk” from the passenger door for lock and unlock actuation.
