CEL Carbon Buildup Fix

jford-
I have used Bodymotion (not for my 993), and they are knowledgeable; I have gotten good results. However, I think they are pretty pricey, but not as high as the dealer. I would use them again, and probably will. If they are charging $400-600, someone else might charge $300-500, all else being equal. Another spot I have heard about, but have not tried yet, is A&W Auto Parts (!) on Rt 35 in Eatontown. They do Porsche service, and have experience with 993s, or so I have been told. No affiliation with either.
Good luck on the CEL problem.

Thanks for the tip. Living in south Jersey it seems like it is the dealer or DIY. Those two options aren't always enough. I will definatly give A&W a call especially if they have 993 specific experience. I'll let you know what I find out.

Chris - Yup, your right. That's it. I wonder how it would work on the flat 6 ?

FYI, I called the local Motorvac station and discussed the SAI issue with him. He was not at all confident that they could rectify this problem. He said the system really is only effective on the intake side. He offered (at my expense, of course) to give it a try, but wouldn't be suprised if it didn't do the trick.
Their promotional info says "entire exhaust system", so I'm confused. Either this guy (Motorvac's only Atlanta metro service center) doesn't know the true capability, or there's a little fudging in their discription.

I had mine done (soaking it in some solution and blowing it out).... cost me CA$500.... so far (after 5000kms, no check engine light yet!).
BTW, i saw previous posts about using the Lubro Moly Jectron and Ventil Sauber works.... Anyone has any noticable results?? I've been using this every 5k.... does seem a little bit smoother on the throttle....
