Question Recaro SPGs -

Hey you guys with Recaro SPGs - how tight are these? I am 6'2" maybe 195 pounds - will I fit in these? I am trying to find a place locally where I can go sit in them, but no luck yet. These will be for track use and my wife and I share the same car, so I want to err on the side of tight for me so she can also fit fairly snug as well.

If the SPG's are too tight, you can always take a look at XL version of the SPG.

ZCAT - Don't think you would be comfortable in them. Would be easier to tell with a waist size as muscle mass (weighing more than fat) could play a big role in weight.

Kim - Its about an inch and a half wider than the normal SPG.

Bill,

When I had SPGs in my Viper, I weighed 200 lbs and had a 34" waist. They were a little on the uncomfortable side, especially in my rear rib cage and shoulders.

Well I have a 34 inch waist at present - I guess I really need to sit in them.

Bill, I have some sitting in my garage at the moment, you're welcome to come over and try them. Michelle may want to try them too. While Stephanie is smaller than I am, she did not like the fit and "forced" me to get Pole Positions (which are in the Turtle and you can also try).

bill,

i am 180 with 32" waist. it's a nice tight fit for me on track, but i find it too constricting for street driving.

I'd love to be 180lbs with a 32" waist again...

So Bill, does getting sport seats mean you are going to start fixing up your 993tt for track???

Nope - this is for the 87 Carrera. We will probably sell the 993TT.

Fongster - I tried the SPGs and Pole Positions last night. The SPGs fits me very closely - probably just right if I was only going to drive with them on the track. But I think it is too tight for general driving. The Pole Position felt great, of course.

John - yes, we are supposed to pick up the M5 this weekend. It just seems senseless to have all these cars with only 2 drivers. I asked my wife to choose a Porsche to sell and she choose the 993TT.
