996, I think the wide ovals for a wide body go for about $ 7-800 bucks. If I could get mine refurbed for $ 200 ish, i'd do it.

Cost of constantly refinishing the oem wide ovals vs therapy for the OCD...probably even in the end game.

just saying...

you dont have an engine undertray still, do you?

It used to be easy to find great aftermarket wide ovals for $130-$150. Did those sellers all just stop?

Can you post photos of the damage to your tips?

Here's the wide ovals. Finally found them in the garage! They're worse than I remembered!

Default Polish SS or Chome Plated

Are we sure these are plated? I was in the polished stainless camp? No guessing...who knows?

The real Porsche wide oval tips are not plated. I believe they are made from 300 series stainless steel, which should be non-magnetic. If those tips are OEM Porsche and I'm correct about the parent material, then for testing purposes, a magnet should not stick.

FWIW, I cannot locate the appropriate part numbers from the photos that were posted.

Regardless of this info, at least one of those tips, looks to be BER, (beyond economical repair).

These are OEM and they are not plated. They are/were polished stainless.I said this earlier in one of my first posts and yes- beyond "economical repair which is why I bought aftermarket tips. WHEN/ IF you can find OEM Widebody replacements- which are MUCH MUCH harder to find than NB tips- they are about $ 700-800 a set ( and that was what I saw in 2014 when I replaced mine).
