I am picking the car up on Wednesday, so I’ll be able to confirm after that.

Me and the big headed wonder have discussed this many times and we are convinced it is the dry grease on the splines. Unfortunately even if you don’t need a clutch it might be dumb to not replace it while the trans is out.

I live a long way from Porsche workshops so second opinions are almost impossible.

I picked the car up a couple of days ago and I'm cautiously optimistic that it's been fixed. I've parked the car on a couple of hills and it has behaved itself. The new clutch (or new grease?) seems to have been the cure. The workshop didn't find a smoking gun.

I inspected the used parts afterwards and didn't see anything wrong with them. There was some life left on the disc however I still think it needed to be replaced. The new clutch is *FEATHER* light and much the car is significantly easier to get away from a standing start.

What was your total parts list and cost? I'm headed down the same road.

The price for the clutch and labour was about $2200 USD.

I am in Australia, so keep this in mind when comparing prices with US workshops.
