From my signature line you can see I previously owned a '96 C2 (for 8 years) and looking to get back into one. Coincidentally, this car is the same color as my car: midnight metallic blue, which I love. I'm very familiar with 993's and know what I'm getting into with regards to what's required to 'modernize / refresh' a 993. I'm trying to find the best car as possible to re-build my old car. I don't want a garage queen but I also don't want a really high mileage car. I bought my first car with about 40K miles on the clock and then drove it for another 35K miles over eight years and did zero engine work. I did update the valve covers and replaced the clutch right when I bought it. I know the seller is being overly optimistic and I would not pay anything near the asking price. At $75K-$80K I would be awfully close to a 997 GT3! There are lots of 50-60k mile 993's for sale at dealers at even higher asking prices but as far as I can tell they're not selling.

Despite "knowing" these cars, unless you're a mechanic, given 6-owners, original suspension, very low recorded miles, its having lived in 3-states, will you buy w/o a thorough ppi?

I would not buy any car without a full PPI.
