Default Gap Insurance

Anyone in Connecticut work with a insurance company that provides gap insurance ? My current carrier (Progressive) has been great with rates and flexibility, but does not provide gap insurance. Ideally rather keep Progressive and have a a separate carrier provide gap insurance to the independent appraised value of the car.

BTW, called my new insurance agent and he asked "what car do you want gap insurance for" - I said, "the 95 Porsche 911 Cabriolet" - he replied, "is it a two door, or 4 door ?" Think I may be changing agents.

I would call a couple dealers and ask them who they would recommend.
How much of a "gap" do you need to cover? Are you talking about covering the difference between what is owed and what the market value is? Or do you want a "stated value" policy?

Greg,

Pre-stated value is what I am looking for. Not the blue book value if car was stolen or totalled.
