after a recent visit to my mechanic... i saw two beautiful twin-turbos that were getting big $$$ service jobs & was wondering...
one of the turbos was getting both lower valve-cover gaskets replaced, at 40k+ (maybe more) which involved removal of the rear bumper cover(?) so more labor hours to repair than a n.a. the other turbo was a beautiful polar silver '97 that had around 60k on the clock that was having a new engine put in!
so... long story short. i understand a twin-turbo will be a step up in performance as well as maintenance... a new engine at 60k? is this common? and if so, when looking for a "tt" should i just go for a low mile car?
this has got me puzzled... almost to the point of possibly going for a 996tt (new), w/ the benefits of a warrantee, rather than the much more desirable (for me) 993tt.
any thoughts out there? anyone in the same boat?
all input appreciated!
cheers!
