Default dyno run & tuning

does anyone have a place they recommend that can do a dyno run and is knowledgable on 993's (and yes I have the 2wd)?

I'm hoping for someplace that can do a couple runs, id any probs (i.e. air/fuel mixtures) and do any tuning that might be necessary.

location: hopefully between San Francisco & San Jose, but if there is someone good anywhere in the SF Bay Area - I'd like to know.

Thanks,
Boris

Boris, a while back Mark@DEVEK (his user name) did a post about a free dyno run and then set up a dyno day at a place I think was in the south bay. I had wanted to do the dyno run but was out of town when they did it. You might contact him, I didn't save the email that had the info.

Tom, yes i have the name of that shop (because i keep all my email) - and i will look it up. As i recall it was about $75 for 3 pulls. However, what i didn't know was whether or not that shop knew anything about these cars. It would be nice to have a knowledgable person there to monkey with things...

Cheers,
Boris

Hi Boris,
I had my 993 and 964 dynoed at Dyno Spot Racing in San Jose. Dick, the owner is a great guy. He actually went to school (Cal) with Garret of GIAC. I'd say general knowledge is great, not so sure about depth of p-car knowledge. I know folks from the Audi club go there as well.
For the 993, I ran 3 runs on 3 different chips to see which provided the best results. I changed the chips myself, and all went well. The 964 was just a straight 3 runs.

You can check out their web site at http://www.dynospotracing.com/

I know The Racers Group offers dyno sevice as well as Rennsport in Mtn View. No personal experience, but I did speak with each on the phone prior to DSP.

Hope this helps-

Boris, If you set something up let me know. I'd like to dyno the 964 before I do anything to the engine, emissions or ECU. I'm just short of time until March.

Default Apex Motorsports

A group of friends had a dyno day a year back at Apex Motorsports http://www.apexmotorsports.com/ - The shop is primary a Mustang and Viper shop but we had a couple Ferraris (355 & 360) and they definitely knew what they were doing. Talk to Bill (the owner) - he's a great guy and could give you the scoop on what they can/have done.
take it easy
