Default Wheel Refinishing - East Coast

Everyone,

I want to pass along a recommendation for wheel refinishing for the east coast guys. Some of you may know about this vendor already.

I was doing a tire change out and wanted to get my 18" TT wheels refinished. Calling around to the Porsche dealer and local independent shops, the name that kept coming up was Wheel Collision Center in Bath Pennsylvania.

I ended up sending all four of my wheels there and the service was impressive. I received a prompt call when the wheels arrived and another call when they shipped out. The turn-around time in their shop was only four days and pricing was $120 per wheel, not including shipping. My wheels were straight and true, so the only work required was stripping and refinishing.

The results? I unpacked the wheels this afternoon and the fnish and workmanship is superb. The baked on base coat and clear coat finish is what the wheels must have looked like when the car was on the showroom floor in 1997.

If you're an east coast Porsche owner and want to have your wheels done, I think they are a great option. No affiliation, etc.

Their phone number is 800-292-7467. I spoke to both Joanne and Tracy.

Keith,
I will post a picture when I get the tires remounted.

John,
Wheel Collision did a very good job of painting the inside of the rims. The finish isn't as smooth and "wet look" as the outside, I think because the machined finish of the inner rim is not smooth from the factory. But they look 1000% better now.

Bill, Mark, and Evan:

You're very welcome. Hope the winter is treating you guys ok. Bill, I guess you've been getting hammered the last few days. This winter is getting old in Upstate NY. Very cold and snows 3" to 4" every day.

With my car in storage for 5 months I keep thinking up projects to do (like the wheels) and spend money on. If I could only get the new turbo bumper cover back from the paint shop....

There is a guy in Elmsford, NY called The Wheel Doctor (914) 592-7045. He is very meticulous and owns a killer red 911 turbo with 19 inch wheels & 550 hp. Great guy, he did the wheels on my wife's Lexus and I can't even tell where it was damaged.
