MDX owners and future MDX buyers.

Have one, love it. Has same platform as Odyssey van, hence the smooth ride.

I have 4 kids and mamma say she's not done (yikes!).

I really liked the X5, but also needed the third row. The MDX 3rd row folds perfectly flat. Throw in the rubber floormat, dog-barrier and there's plenty of room for Clyde, my Golden Retriever.

I paid Sticker, and was happy I didn't have to put in the order and wait months for a new one.

Mine is a 2002. The navigation system is second to none. DVD and touchscreen.

I have 35,000 miles. Only problem has been a replacement motor for driver's power seat.

Nice and wide 2nd row.

Well that's my $0.02

Just for anyones Gee-Wiz file, my neighbor is a lead tech at Volvo and he mentioned that in the not too distant future the XC90 will be getting a small V8 Twin Turbo'd. I don't know if that's news to any of you.. but I hadn't heard it yet.

I hear ya He brings home customer cars overnight for "Test Drives" so we have zipped around in many XC90's and a few S60R's. Very nice rides.

They know and approve
Many of them actually call him at home and have him do work without the dealer shafting.

My wife has a 2001 3.0 X5. It has -- knock wood -- been very reliable and it handles well for a 4,500lb. vehicle. The XC90 wasn't offerred at the time, and I wanted to buy a safe car for my family. The X5, as I recall, was rated very highly in either NHTSA or Insurance Institute crash tests.

Two things to be wary of: our X5 has averaged only 15 mpg with a decent mix of city and highway driving, and cargo space is minimal. We bought a Thule ski pod to help with the lack of cargo space. I think the ski pod adds 15+ cubic feet of cargo space, and doesn't noticeably increase wind noise at speed.

The X5 is very safe. Second in class only to the XC90. Its just a matter of degrees. We loved the X5. At the end of the day, space and price ruled the day.

I always wonder why no one mentions the Audi Allroad in these conversations. This car drives like the BMW and has enough storage capacity for most. Everyone is hung up on the concept of an SUV, but this was the original and I still believe the best. Take a look at the owner's bulletin boards -- they have as much enthusiasm as we do on the 993 board!!

Wife and I test drove Cayenne V6, X3 and Infiniti FX 35. Ended up buying the Infiniti. Feels more like a sports car than the BMW and fully equipped much cheaper than the others. Love the technology package and the styling. Check it out you may be surprised.
