993 Buying advice / value question??

You're not quite correct regarding pricing n BAT. I bought my 1996 C2 on BAT earlier this year for $68k and it had 56k miles.
If I was the seller I'd hold out for more to be honest.
Just my personal opinion.

Interesting -I still can't seem to find your sale data...it's a bit difficult to hover the mouse around over the plotted dots on the graph to see all the sales but you must have been the only car to sell over $60K!

Couple questions come to mind, If you are looking for a driver, whats the point of spending $60K instead of $40K on a decent car with 80-90K miles?
Why would clutch be replaced at 40K miles? Coupled with seats that need to be redone... I smell some small furry toothy fidgety animal and it ain't a rabbit. Help me identify it, please.
Finally, I'm the biggest proponent of "buying the seller". If you are not feeling it, I'd walk away without hesitation. I'm also certain that this car will be available for quite a while based on described seller's behavior.

I am guessing this is his car: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1996-porsche-911-8/. Over $71k with BaT fees.

Of course someone will pay anything for 'the one' but my argument is the vast majority have sold for $55-$60K. Like I said, the seller paid $63 about a year ago and now want $10K premium. Correct me if I'm wrong but everything I have read and hears is that the market has 'softened' or even gone down a bit.

^ is that yours? Where is it listed for sale? It looks solid.
I did a search on autotrader and only found 2 6 speed coupes asking in the 40's. The rest were asking 50's and up.

Sorry, not for sale... just acquired it in August. My aim was to show the OP that there are good cars out there for much less than $60k. Now granted, my car has a lot more miles than the one he mentioned, but I also paid $15k less which will be really helpful when upgrading all of the suspension and the other little things that I want to do with the car. It’s definitely a driver’s car, but that’s exactly what I wanted.

That damn better be a large pocket
I'm seriously having bad thoughts, After 15 years of ownership of 2 993s I'm having thoughts. Hard to keep a car like that in the middle of a city, hard to have it as an only parts/tire support vesicle for a race car.
