DANSK exhaust

In my search for my first 993, I have found what appears to be a pretty clean 97 C4S with around 20k miles. Initial inquiries as to the condition of the car along with pictures look good - car is located on USA east coast - I am on west cost. However, car has an aftermarket DANSK exhaust. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience with this particular brand? Although I gathered lots of info about the 993s from this board, I know nothing about aftermarket mods - and would quite honestly prefer a totally stock car (If it's good enough for Porsche, it's good enough for me!).

Also, any drawbacks/warning signs I should look for resulting from aftermarket exhausts?

THere is a super clean C4S that my buddy Carlos has for sale in San Diego. It is black on black with a factory Turbo tail. Drop me a note and I will hook you and the owner up. This is a must see, and there are no aftermarket mufflers on this one.

I believe Dansk is a longtime original equipment exhaust supplier to Porsche, so I would think their aftermarket exhausts are as good as anyone's. If you like the sound and power, and having that exhaust does not get you in trouble with the emissions people in your area, I wouldn't worry about it.

Is my memory correct on Dansk, anyone? You might post that to the main 911 list on Rennlist and see what you get.

JRW,

I've heard those mufflers are good and there's defenately something to improve when it comes to stock mufflers.

Stock 993 doesn't sound like Porsche should. Not Porsche's 'fault' (those damn noise regulations) but still, really needs more sound.

Phil,

What will be the replacement?! Must be TT, or even better, RS? <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />
