when we bought our 993 in April 02, we bought it from Irvine BMW. After a few hours of talking price and terms of PPI etc, we bought it for roughly $11k below their window price. I was given the usual line of "the used car manager is at home and cant be reached for approval". Anyhow, drove the car home and returned the next day to drop off a check for the balance. The sales guy was begging me to unwind the deal because they had sold it too cheap. He wanted me to let the car sit on the lot over the weekend to see if they could sell it for more. If not, then I could purchase it. I thought he was blowing smoke but then I thought to myself, the deal was signed the night before and reminded him that we have a signed contract. why would he be begging for this? I dont know if he got in trouble over this?
I have never had a dealer ask (or beg) for a car back
Sorry to rant,
Chris

Thanks for everyone's response re Premier Cars...
While I'm ashamed to admit that I wasn't astute enough to have a PPI performed when I was spending over $70,000 on an automobile, I think what Premier Cars did to me was far worse...
If they "knowingly" sold me the car with all those problems, in my opinion, they committed outright fraud. If they "unknowingly" sold me the car with all those problems, they should have made the situation right by buying it back.

Mike, the above paragraph sums it up well, and I fully agree. Thanks for posting this, as it may save someone someday from unecessary stress. I guess if you can't arrange to see the car personally, the next best bet is to arrange for an independent PPI.

Mike,
Don't feel too bad. After all, it could have been worse (use your imagination).
Live and learn, and look forward to getting that jewel!!! The hunt is half the fun. And life's too short to not be driving your dreamcar
Here's to looking forward to seeing your post when you find it!
