My heart is with you as you describe is what we did with my 86' Carrera for 15 years when we lived in the Cleveland Snow Belt.

390k! Wow, tell us more.

What kind of work have you had to do to keep it going?

I dream about hitting 500k miles but I’m nowhere as close as you.

My 1995 993 was a daily driver for about the last 8 years prior to my retirement. Roughly 15 miles each way, every day. It's also been driven at an average of 4 driver's ed weekends each year. Other than the lack of adequate A/C for Florida, it was a great experience. No reliability problems or premature wear items.
It has about 157,000 miles on the ODO now. We just pulled the engine for a clutch replacement and new gaskets. I was prepared to do a top end, but with leakdown numbers at or below 5% on all cylinders, there was no reason to go into it. We fixed the oil leaks, replaced some rubber and hoses, did the clutch and then I spent way too much time cleaning anything I could reach. Now it's back on the road for another 100,000!

All cleaned and ready for replacement in the car

I intended to daily my first 993, a 95 C2. Could not bring myself to slog it through salty winters.

I end up driving mine just about every day. I feel guilty not driving the other car but it's usually impossible not to grab the 993 keys.

My 993 is my main car, but since I don’t commute to work, I only do approx 5-6k miles per year

I want to see this! 390K miles is the highest mileage ever stated that I've seen.
