Michael,

I'm well aware of the specifics, thank you. I therefore preceeded my comments with "FWIW". Do a search, you'll find out what that means...

Hey EJ, how do I check my oil again? My oil gauge is in the red when I'm driving and I'm worried now.

EJ,

That was the finest, most well done, most polite "taking someone out to the woodshed" I've ever seen.

Bravo!

Good post - save it for periodic reposting.
BTW, I'll give you that at 31 you're not old, but that doesn't mean you're not a crotchety fart. I, OTOH, am admittedly fully qualified.

PS Oftentimes it is the quality and/or the quantity of questions/posts or the perceived attitude or lack of initiative of the poster that provokes an unwanted reaction. Although sometimes, it's just someone having a bad day.

E.J I changed my profile and found out how lucky I was. My car had the factory M030 before all the goodies were put on. Man tough bunch today.

This was exactly my point the other day in regards to Seth's post. I guess a few people might have understood.

Randy,
To add fuel to the fire, you don't have RSR bars but RS sway bars. Many (if not all) of the RSR's had cockpit adjustable sway bars, major $$$$.

E.J.,

That was a true gentleman's post (very helpful and sincere).

31? Wow you are a very young Guru/Yoda

Greg, I think DJ has the RSR/Supercup sway bars... I was discussing with Kim a while back ago about his car and we were impressed with the amount of work and $$$ invested in his car. IMHO the future owner of that car is a very lucky guy

LOL! The RS and RSCS 993 all had the same sway bars. 23/20 5 position front and 3 in the back. The RSR or Supercup bars were 24/18 and cockpit adjustable.

Look at the tunnel on this 993RSR race car and you will see the cockpit adjustable sway bars. The two factory RSR's I have had the chance to look at up close and personal, and the one that I got a chance to drive each had the same/similar set up and the sway bar is a lot different than what we use.
The term RSR gets thrown around alot in the Porsche world and it sometimes doesn't mean that it was used on the factory RSR race cars.

Greg, this is way off topic from Randy's original subject.

But what are the differences between a 993RS and 993RSR?

OT- Well at least we are talking about Porsches! Sorry Randy...

There are enough difference to write a book about but basically the RS was a streetable car and the RSR was a full race car for the top level pros. The similarity is like comparing the 996 GT3 Street car to the 996 GT3RS that TRG ran at LeMans and in the ALMS series.

Here is a link to some pics of a 993RSR

Hey E.J.,

If questions are never answered, there won't be any answers in the archives to search for.

(yes, this is meant to be nonsense)
