Malibu Run February 1 anyone?!?!?!
#47
Here's my report. We had the usual great time, even with me subbing for Fred in the lead. Route was Topanga Canyon/Fernwood Pacific/Tuna Canyon/Saddle Peak Road/Stunt/Mullholland Hwy to PCH, and South on PCH home. On Saddle Peak we were passed by 3 black and white Sherriff cars, and for a minute I though they had sent the troops out to round us up, but they just kept going the other way, and so did we. I don't think Sherriffs do traffic duty in hills like the CHP does, but I'm not sure of that.
Only had 6 cars: On Time (Lorenzo), who certainly lived up to his name, and thanks for coming a long way from Corona; Agent 325 (Carlo); hn (Hoan); Adsc4s (Addison), who needs a name change for his new TT which he brought so we could all see how 19" HRE 542s look; Stevarino (Steven), who took some photos, MetroMan (Jim, I think?) and moi.
MetroMan ran with his top down, even though it was pretty cold. (Fred, you've got company with another Tip Cab w/blue interior) My thermometer was reading in the low 30's in the Topanga and Malibu area, with a low of 31 degrees at Mulholland and Malibu Canyon intersection, where we were passed by a Yellow GT-3 going the other way. Notwithstanding the temperature, it was sunny and clear and beautiful.
Lorenzo, did you make it to Dunkel's on the way home?

.....although i don't miss the smog and the population density, I DO miss the canyon roads, my 993, and an early morning drive with the 'guys'. ..hope to be back there for the next one.
One question though.......
