Question Quick question about 17" OE wheels on widebody

Did the 17" cup wheels that came from the factory on a 1997 C2S widebody have the same offsets as the 17" wheels that came on the narrow body 993?

According to p-car.com it looks like the answer to this question is yes, but wanted to make sure.
Thanks!

Howie,
I don't think they'll fit - I believe that the offset for a widebody car rear wheel is 47mm and the narrowbody car is 65mm.
This is the data I recall based on my 18" wheels and I'd expect that a 17" wheel wouldn't be different.
You can put the narrow body wheels on a wide body car if you use a spacer (I've done this) but doubtful about going the other way.
The front offsets are 50mm for both body styles.

i believe 17s were the standard wheel on the "S" model. spacers on the rear from factory. Look at the thread just posted today titled "random picture" of a nice widebody with 17 wheels. max

Rick and Max,
Thanks for the replies. I think the 17" wheel on a widebody did come with spacers from the factory (think Max is correct).
So, I think a 17" wheel is a 17" wheel and all 993 17" wheels are exactly the same size regardless of the type body they came on?
Any more confirmation on this theory?

My 97C2S came with 17" wheels from the factory and the factory used 25mm spacers to make them work. The 17" wheels that come on the S are the same wheels that fit the narrow body only on the narrow body they don't use spacers.

18" wheels for the wide body are are different offset in the rear. 44 mm vs 65mm I think.

For a 993 4S the rights offsets are:

-17"x8 ET30 rear
-18"x10 ET40 rear

17x9" wheels came standard on the rear of the c2s, the same 55mm as the narrow body I as I understand it, using 31mm spacers. (I've had a set on my car)

18s are 40 mm in rear versus 65 on the narrowbody.
