Default Knock Sensor Bridge

I have a 1996 993 C2 and have just done some top end work. Was looking at putting things back together and when I looked really close I noticed 1 of the 6 bolts that fastens the knock sensor bridge down is longer than the other 5. Anyone seen this before or know why. Don't see anything in the shop manual, as they all appear to be the same.

If the same as the 964 they should be 30mm long and the length is critical to them working correctly.

The bolts are correct except for one bolt which is longer. Just trying to figure out why. I didn't notice when I took it apart and the photos I took doesn't show it. Maybe someone else worked in there and used the wrong size bolt. Before going there I thought I'd ask here first, its possible that the longer bolt also is a hold down for another part.

Hi RBP,

The Porsche PET parts catalog calls for six M6 X 30 bolts for the two knock sensor bridges, all bolts the same.

Sounds like someone lost one in the cars past. From what i remember they are all the same length, torque value is important

Ok, just checking. Am replacing the bolt with a M10 x 30 and moving on. Thanks for the input.

M10? Will not fit in a 6mm thread. Maybe confusion as the nut takes a 10mm socket. You need M6 X 30mm.
