Follow up to my recent BaT purchase
I wanted to get the general consensus on my new to me C4S.
The car has original paint, Im going to replace the stone guards for sure. My question is should I have the front clip resprayed to take care of the stone chips and then 3m it or should I leave it as is. I know its only original paint only once but is it that BIG of a deal?

I would have the front bumper resprayed and replace the rear stone guards. The hood and fenders appear to be ok.

Respray everyone has done it. Then clearbra the nose at least. My 993 has the bikini 1/4 hood coverage and bumper of course. Side mirrors are a must as well. This will cover you for 99% of the stone chips.

Respray, fill the bumperetts and do the Turbo S foglights. Just document the before and after. I would always prefer a care that was well cared for and parts were properly replaced / repaired as needed.
Congrats on the purchase!

If the chips are in the clear coat and not all the way through the color layer one may want to try lightly sanding the clear coat and then just respraying clear. Be sure to use a suitable bumper cover clear coat that stands up to flexing. One could spot check the feasibility of this by purchasing a spray can of clear urethane and try it on a test patch area on the front edge of the bumper cover.

Value wise I think it makes very little difference. I like mine with the chips because then I am not nervous to drive it. When I have almost perfect paint Porsches I rarely drive them and end up selling them. Most Porsche guys I know do not think minor resprays like this cause a loss in value. Folks like good looking paint.
