Another happy C4S owner!
Well, I actually feel a little guilty about this, but I bought Suwipin's 97 C4S. Everyone tried to talk him out of selling but he did and I bought it, don't hate me guys! Seriously though, this has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid and I finally got what I wanted. I couldn't ask for a better person to buy a car from, Pin was great, I just hope he will get another car soon!
I picked it up Saturday in the Bay Area (right after Pin finished his drive with everyone) and drove it home to Lake Tahoe, where I live. What a blast! Driving up Highway 50 at night was always a pretty cool drive when no one is on the road but now I will look forward to it! I was able to go for a drive around the Lake yesterday and a quick cruise this morning, but now it is snowing and the forecast looks like winter is finally coming. Once it starts snowing in Tahoe it is pretty deep up here most of the winter so I probably won't get to drive my new car that much until the spring. Even when the snow if off the road there is so much dirt and rock from the snow removal equipment that it will be rare to get it out until then.
I included one photo of the car in Tahoe, in front of the Lake, but it was a pretty gloomy day for pictures.
Anyway, I wanted to say thanks to Pin for parting with his car and thanks to everyone who contributes to this list. Without the list I wouldn't have known where to start or what to look for in a 993. This list is an amazing source of information and the people that I have already met from this community are great as well.
I haven't officially paid in full for the car, I still owe Pin a snowboard lesson up here in Tahoe! Anyone coming up to the area to ski or snowboard this winter, feel free to look me up and we can go make some turns (on snow).

Hi Jason,
Welcome to the Rennlist
Please don't feel quilty at all, I myself am also fortunate to know that my C4S (or ex-C4S) went to a very nice guy such as yourself.
Wow that's a very nice picture, Jason... gosh I certainly miss that car ... a lot.
I probably can not get another 993 in the next 2 years or so (due to a family planning/other priorities) but I certainly want to get another one when I get the opportunity to. From my limited experience, I have found that no other car drives like a 993 and this was the only car that I could be so emotionally attached to.
Thank you again Jason... and please enjoy the car in good health.
Cheers

JD,
Yes I got a PPI, and everything checked out fine. The one thing they found Pin had fixed before I got the car from him. Between the PPI and the reputation of Pin and his care of the car, it was an easy decision.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, and I will definitely see all of you next spring at some of the Nor Cal events!

Jason - nice picture and great car. We were all trying to get Pin to part it out on Saturday (I was vying for the sport seats and the harness bar and camera mount).
Pin - you really do need to try an 80s Carrera. A nicely tuned Carrera will amaze you I think (maybe enough to make you forget the 993 for a while).

Bill, thank you for the suggestion. I'd certainly give it a try (your red Carrera? ).

Congrats on the purchase and welcome. Suwipin's, er, I mean your car is really well-optioned.
Glad to see she has found a good home. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Congrats & welcome.
Just one thing, didn't Pin include his Rennlist avatar with the car? If not, withhold the snow boarding lesson 'til he does. (You'll need a membership, of course).

I actually paid my membership a couple weeks ago, I just haven't gotten the Red "Rennlist Member" status added to my posts yet, I did send the email requesting it though.
I will create a nice Avatar when I get a really good photo of the car. I need at least one more clear day in Tahoe before it snows!

Jason, If I were you I wouldn't feel guilty at all, rather I would feel lucky as I had a deal w/ Pin for his car for $55K and he chose not to honor it. And he was the one to start the dialog w/ me. From all of the Emails I recieved about the car I think you got a fine example. I test drove the same car you did in Redwood City and it wasn't for me either. Have fun w/ your new car.

Jason,
Congratulations on your new purchase! Where are you located? North or South Tahoe. I'll be up for sure sometime this season. I'm a regular boarder, but had a few mishaps in the last couple of seasons so I'm a little rusty but would love to get a tour of some backcountry powder.
