Question OT: Auto Train to Florida from DC - is it Porsche-friendly?

Have any Rennlisters put their precious Porsches on Amtrak's Auto Train from Washington? Are they strict about the four inch ground clearance rule (mine would fail)? Can one drive ones own car on and off the train (as I have done in Switzerland)?
Feedback would be most welcome. As the freezing weather threatens to decend upon us once again this week my thoughts are wandering back to South Beach, this time in my 993 instead of a lousy rental car.
Thanks,
Reuben

Up until 2000, my grandfather would ship his 7 series and then his CLK via the autotrain to FL for his annual winter migration south. Never any damage, but he also rode the train down w/ the car. I believe he flew back and met the car in Philly or DC (where ever the northern-most point for the auttrain was). Worth looking into.

4 Killed, 159 injured, 200 cars emerged without a scratch. Sounds like their priorities are in the right place
