Default Update oil pressure gauge

Now my oil pressure gauge reads 4 1/4 bars at anything above 2000 rpms and stays there until I slow below 2000 rpms, which then drops to 2 bars. Is this normal?

This is usually associated with oil pressure sending unit. Although, what you describe sounds semi-normal. You might want to post a video of the gauge with a few seconds of idle and a few seconds of revving.

Ginch...........Since my last post I pulled the gauge out and cleaned the terminals......
nile13..........at idle, the oil pressure gauge is steady at 2 bars......when revving it shots back up to 4 1/4 bars.....

I just drove mine. What you've described seems normal. At least mine behaves the same way.

Usually the gauge pegs up if there's a sender issue.

Nile13.......thank you for checking....I was thinking the oil pressure gauge needed to be calibrated.

Don't make this too difficult. Before you embark on the re-calibration of gauges, make sure all of your electrical connections, especially grounds, are sound.

In my experience the pressure gauge and the oil level gauge are not accurate on a 993. That's why we all check oil (should, anyway) via the dipstick.

Also, gauges seem to behave differently right after an oil change.

Once mines warm I can touch the throttle to get revs to about 1000 and the oil pressure rises to 3bar
by 2000 its pegged at 5
