Post Wing mirror glass

Anyone know how to fit/remove the wing mirror glass on a 993? I can't work it out for the life of me!

I answered that very question on this thread:
<a href="http://forums.rennlist.com/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=004519#000006" target="_blank">Side Mirror Won't adjust - DIY? Cost?</a>

The picture is gone, but the description should suffice.

If you still have questions, let me know.

Thanks for that.. but.. it didn't really help. I don't see any toothed gearing or anything.

The motor works and two "arms" move in and out (to move the mirror left/right and up/down but I see no way to fix the new glass in.. what an I missing here?

Did you find the hole on the bottom of the mirror housing? Shine a flashlight up the hole, and move the mirror around until you see a plastic piece with some notches in it. Insert a small screw driver into one of the notches and push it one way or the other (one way is tight, the other loose). Don’t try to turn the screw driver. You are in effect using the screw driver as a small pry bar to push the plastic piece.

There is no mirror glass in the housing.. it came with a piece of glass velcro'd in!.. it's how I fix in the new one?! (I could be missing bits.. but have no reference)

Sounds like someone jerry rigged a repair. What about the other side? Can you use that as a reference?

If I follow you instructions I could remove the other side... maybe ;-)
