I currently have 8X18 and 11X18 996 TT hollow spoke wheels on my car. I have chance to purchase 8.5X18 and 12X18 GT2 wheels, which are not hollow spoke but obviously are wider. Wheels look identical. Cost to me is about $1,500 after purchase and sale of my wheels.

Is it worth it, or am I beiong foolish?? Tires on newwheels are Michelin Sport Pilots. I have P-Zeros now. Tread wear on each is comparable.

Foolish for the following reasons:

- The GT2 wheels AND tires will weigh a ton more
- No benefit in fitting bigger wheels and tires
- Not sure they'll even fit
