Anecdotally think something's out of date with the Hagarty numbers. No way #2's (like mine) are getting $215 on the open market. My guess is $180. Wonder if they're using auction numbers which tend to be high?

My indy just sold a 1996 C4 (not what you want but for reference) was GRed, 20,000 miles, one owner and as new in every respect for $80,000.
+993! One can hardly notice the extra inch or so of widht on each hip of the CS!

If You look to see if it's a wide body 993 You have to look at the sills, not the hips because it differs so little that it's hard to see!

C2S (and 4S) look much wider than the couple of inches added to each rear wing suggests. I really wanted a wide body rear wheel drive 993 and was happy to pay for it.

Trend lines don't anticipate peaks or valleys so they have little predictive value. That's why you can't forecast anything better than 50% of the time. If you could you'd have more money than anyone. If I was a classic car investor, everything I didn't want for personal use would already be sold. Check out The Black Swan for the theory and math behind this.

LOL. Speculative money for these cars left over 18 months ago and have gone elsewhere.

I have a '95 RoW Carrera (G50-21 trans "shorter ratio) and my '97 993tt RoW as well (450cv specs). The Carrera (WB) being restomoded a bit by me, with half of power, feels likemore fun to drive, more analogue/rough ove rmy 993tt. If I had to choose to keep one for any reason,I would stick with my Carrera. I think I enjoy it more driving it all arround....but test drive them and decide which do you like more.

PS: I raced once a friend's 997.2 3.8 GT3 with my 993tt, 2nd-3rd gears I will pull away like 1-1.5 cars of lenght, then by 4th gear GT3 starts to short the distance and then just pass me with out major effort....

As Diego reminds, driving experiences in these cars are not only about going ultra fast, i.e., the tt. It is about "engagement" and "fun to drive" factors. On public roads in many places speed is ever-more restricted anyway, given growth and development. Some/many can afford otherwise, and are not tt "wannabees", opting for normally aspirated machines for reasons well stated on this forum and in many discussion groups.
Certainly the G50-21 transmission or a re-gear would never be refused!

Drove a 4S today. It's a nice car, but if I was to buy the 4 wheel drive version, I think I would rather have the turbo. Need to drive the 2 or 2S now though before I focus on a turbo only. The one I looked at was at SLC Porsche and it is a yellow 4S. It is a very nice copy if someone is looking.

I own a 97TT, 96 c2 NB, and 97 c4 cab. Investment: No question....buy a turbo. IMO Prices will only go up on the TT. I've owned mine since 2006. Prices spiked 2 years ago and then settled down a bit. You can buy a really really nice one for 150-160. The wide body cars seem to be on a steady incline and if they continue to go up they will push the turbo prices up by default IMO. As far as losing your shirt I really don't see that happening but I own mine bc I just love them; beautiful to look at, sound phenomenal, just a unique drive.

C2S vs TT the car: no question...buy a turbo. SO MUCH MORE CAR FOR THE MONEY! Suspension, motor, exhaust, not to mention most TT are fully loaded (with "computer", full leather, etc). But just drive them back to back you will see.

The extra 20-40k to get into a turbo...worth it.

Drove a nice C2 NB and 96 TT on Friday. Yep, I definitely want the turbo.

I was in the same exact boat as OP about a month ago. Bought a very clean 96 TT. I consider it the perfect compliment to a 991 GT3. Totally different experience, but very familiar at the same time.
