I just ordered a new remote only had one, checked out Robins site and it looks awfully hard to program has anyone done this? I purchased the remote from powertech in Rockaway NJ and they will do it for $40.00 is this money and time well spent or should I attempt it myself.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Rob W
For a '95, the the procedure is as posted on "p-car. I think the $40 is a wise investment. I have a 96, and the procedure is simple (I've done it) and takes less than 5 minutes. For some unknow reasons, the engineers at Porsche have made the procedure for the '95 993 a royal pain.
I have a 96. I've never heard anyone say it's simple. Dealer wants $90. Gave me a discount, too. Reg price about $140. I read a previous post and pretty much gave up when it said remove the seat and connect a jumper wire to some terminal. Then you had to do all kind of gyrations with the ignition switch. (Turn it this way, wait 12.5 minutes, turn it off, wait 5.3549036 minutes, turn it on again, press button 2 1/2 clicks while standing on your head, ad infinitum.) If there is an easy way to do this, please share it with all of us.

LeeHam,
both Jeff and I are saying 95 is a pain. But I believe you are reading the wrong section in Robin's DIY site, scroll fown for the simpler instruction for 1996. My dealer quoted me 0.5 hr labor to program addtional key(s)
I just did the remote programming on my 96 a couple of weeks ago. I was a little worried about doing it after reading some previous posts on how it can be a pain to do. I found it a surpisingly easy DIY. Just read the instructions on Robin's site and in your owners manual a couple of times before you start. It took me less than 5 minutes.
