yeah sometimes they get to pumped up and hold the valves open. I know it's not good to soak them. I use to always do this but not good. must lifters go in dry.

I used a boroscope, no holes in the Pistons.

Still need to pull the valve covers off

I had to work the entire weekend.

I used the boroscope to verify no holes.

After talking with a Porsche expert, he recommended take off the valve covers and look at the lifters rocker arms. You might have roken pieces.

I will do that leak down test Friday after my design review.

Update

I pulled the valve cover off and found the culprit, a non functional lifter.

I ordered new parts and the car should pull 11 in of hg at idle soon.

I plan to drive the car in stock form for about 1 month.

I will tackle the super charger again soon.

As for the split second box, I plan to use it as a clay pigeon.

It's been a long road, but the car is repaired and pulling a constant 12 in of hg at idle.

With that said, I am really to tired to put the supercharger back on today, so I will leave for another day.

Good story- glad it's fixed!
While we are on the subject, where's the best place to measure vacuum?
Thanks in advance for indulging my little hijack...

I pulled a hose off the fuel pressure regulator on the intake manifold. You can pretty much take your pick for a vacuum reading.

Make sure the hose to the guage has a good seal.

Many thanks!
FPR is on the fuel rail under the blower assembly, so if it's all the same, good to know I can find an easier access.
Cheers.

How did you identify the faulty lifter? I've replaced complete lifter sets on three 993s over the last few years, so I'm aware of the installation process.

The supercharger is installed and it's pulling a solid 15 lb of hg.

Need to do some final checkouts, and I will take it for a drive tonight.

I will continue the updates in my TPC install tread
