Default Bumperettes

Hey friends. I introduced myself to an air cooled group on FB looking for some 993 love (why not?) and most loved my car. However, I got some significant Euro-shame over the bumperettes and was told Euro P fans would find my car hideous with them. They don't bother me at all and I feel like it would be way more trouble than it's worth to remove. Thoughts?

Who cares what anyone else thinks. If you don't mind 'em, then that's fine.

And it's no trouble it remove them; all it takes is cash.

I prefer mine without, but to each his own.

This is my car with bumperette deletes I make from time to time. Relatively cheap and easy. I don't have any sets left over from the last batch and I have no idea when I will be making a new batch but I see threads being posted from time to time with people looking for and finding sets from other members that they never got around to installing. I hate the bumperettes because they were only for NA cars and had nothing to do with the original design. More members who installed them pictures below.

Thanks. So just a piece of plastic that gets inserted into the cutout? Y'all do the backend ones adjacent to the plate , or are those RoW standard?

Yes, 2 pieces of shaped plastic painted to match the bumper cover.

I never designed or know of anybody that designed rear ones. I had mine painted to match my last Polar Silver car and the ones on my current black car don't bother me.

The rear ones fill the gaps compensating for the fact that our registration plates are shorter on this side of the pond. Although I've never figured out what the front ones are supposed to accomplish they have never bothered me enough to remove them.

I joked with my Euro-nemesis that I would have the last laugh when the black bear I hit on 1-40 bounces off my front bumperettes leaving no damage to the car.

The front ones were probably for US crash standards or bumper height, etc.

Depends solely on who you're trying to satisfy.

I liked the smooth look of the bumperette delete so I had them filled. I wanted the bumper re-painted anyway to fill the license plate holes. I’m happy with the results but I didn’t absolutely hate them when they were on.

Nice photos everyone. Bumperette-delete look is appealing. I'll need to give it some thought. And I guess nobody down the road will say--your car is great, but I wish it were US stock with the bumperettes.

One of my bosses just bought a 97 Turbo S and I said he should dump the bumps but he says he's not touching it.
