Default Painting sport seat backs

Has anyone tried painting the backs of their sport seats to match the exterior color of their car? I was considering buying a new set of the carbon seat backs pre-painted, but thought it might be possible to paint the set I have. Any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated.

I am contemplating doing the same. there is no need to purchase new seatbacks. The seatbacks can be removed and painted. Mike W

Hello Dave,

I bought a set of these seats from Ebay in Germany and as they were in black leather and their plastic backs in anthracite, I had them sent to Techart who painted the seatbacks in Midnight Blue (my car's color) and also fitted new leather upholstery in marine blue. The result is absolutely awesome.

So, yes, they certainly can be painted - but be careful when you dis-assemble the seat - it should be fairly straightforward but requires patience and knowledge of what you are doing and of all the bits and pieces holding the backs.

Best of luck.
