Post Drove a new m3 today

I was thinking of selling my 96 911 for a new m3 mianly because of a new car warranty and the capability to carry more people or dogs. Does anyone have an m3 and how is the car. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

The M3 is a great car--especially the SMG version. I had a chance to log several hundred miles in one. Of course, it's not quite the sports car that the 993 is, but the M3 does have that extra carrying capacity.

Hi Rob,

I bought an E46 M3 last April and sold it in October to get my 993 C4S.

The E46 M3 has a very nice engine. It's just awesome to drive a car as comfortable as the M3 and on the other hand, with the Sport button on, you have an access to this sweet 333 hp engine.

The torque is what I miss from my ex-M3 but other than that, I like everything on the 993 much better (handling, looks, brakes, engine sound, steering feel, etc.)

I personally think that the M3's steering feel is a bit light and it kind of isolated me from the road feel. Before the E46 M3, I owned an E36 M3 and I prefer the steering feel of the E36 more than the E46. But that's just me.

The M3 can definitely carry more people (or dogs ) than a 993.

If you'll be using the car mostly on the street (and rarely on the track), you might want to consider the M5 too. I test drove one and I personally like the M5 better. It's roomier, can carry more dogs/people and it's a torque monster. I also personally love the styling of an M5 better than the M3.

Hope this helps. I think Anir can help you better, he just got his SMG-II E46 M3

Hey, what an awesome TT.

Btw, can you send me the digital pics you took from that THill event? I don't have any pics from that event and want to add them to my photo album.

Thanks, Pin..
