Not familiar with dealers you referenced. FYI, I once used Joe Rizza Porsche in Orland Park and they were very good. Rich is a tech there who has about 30 years P-car experience.

Good luck with your purchase.

I have used Midwest Eurosport in Bensenville. (Right by O'Hare) 630-595-5577. They are an exclusively Porsche shop and do a great deal of race prepping. I also think they are a good impartial source.

Stay away from Fox Valley (their lead tech is on a 2 week vacation and they use Midwest Eurosports for the hard stuff) My neighbor just bought a 96TT from them and has already had a turbo replaced...
In no paticular order:
Midwest Eurosports (call first to see how backed up they are)
Fisher Motorsports (Rick Fisher-Factory trained in Germany) Barrington
Perfect Power (Saul, knows high end Porsches)
These are the best independents. Only dealers I would go to are The Exchange in Highland Park, Napelton Porsche . Avoid Lynch, poor service, poor work ect...

Contact list taken from Chicago PCA web site. Comments attached are not mine
Midwest Eurosport Racing (All Porsche, also build race cars, Factory Staff)

104 W Irving Park Road (1/2 Block w. of York Rd) (w. of O'Hare on Irving)

Peter Fischer (Good friend, honest, great work, built race car for he and son)
847-304-8822

H&M Auto Haus, Inc. (Porsche Factory trained, Pres. of Mercedes Club)
10321 West Roosevelt Road (1/2 Block e. of Mannheim just off the Eisenhower)

These are great leads and information. However being the skeptic that I am. How does one know that these places are not somehow affiliated with the neigboring dealerships. Can you say KICKBACK's

Keith,
Advice is just that, if your not comfortable with the names on the list then your pretty much out of luck as the independents named above are the only game in town, you could take a car to IN or MI if you wanted to be really sure... I know for a fact that Midwest Eurosports in not affiliated with anyone, the get factory parts from a dealer out of state. If your really uptight, take a Lynch car to Joe Rizza, no way there could be colusion there...

I bought a car from a local dealer and brought it to eurosport an inspection. We created a list two pages long on problems with the car. I was able to knock quite a bit off the price of the car with this list in hand. i has turning the car into a track only car so most of the stuff i was replacing anyway. This was a perfect situation for me.
